A really wonderful Jazz Fusion record on the German MPS label contains many great Jazz tunes performed by really genius musicians around GEORGE DUKE like Airto Moreira, Leon Ndugu Chancler, Kerry McNabb, Alphonso Slim Johnson for example. The lovely vocals on the strong Latin flavored tune “MALIBU” are sung by Sylvia St. James and Kathy Woehrle.
My other favorite on this LP is the vocal track “FOR LOVE”

A really nice and seldom LP on the tiny German NABEL label, which is well known for high quality Jazz and Brazil releases. On this LP by the group NAIMA (Theo de Jong, Jochen Schmidt, Markus Wienstroer, Gerhard Jeltes) are 6 lovely Jazz tunes all with a nice vibraphone parts. My favorites are “FAMILY WALK” and the light Brazil flavored Fusion tune “FREE DANCE!

Rare East German vocalised Latin and Jazz record. USCHI BRÜNNING brings us high quality and funky vocal stuff for dance floor. Wonderful scat vocal workouts with Latin flavour and a touch of fusion. Somehow a kind of style like ANNE HAIGIS was performing in West Germany . Please listen to the 2 sound samples of “HIGHER“ and the wonderful cover version “YOU ARE THE SUNSHINE OF MY LIFE“ but these are only two of 13 wonderful tracks, most of them are cover versions arranged by Eberhard Weise, also included is a nice version from the Bossa classic « THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA ».

Another ultra rare and in demand LP on the German Intercord label. Otto Weiss, Walter Günter and also Members from the Combo around Kitty Winter like Kuno Schmid, well known from Kitty Winter – Gypsy Nova. Many good Hammond organ stuff and a lot of Bossa and Brazil tunes, but most wanted it’s for the Hammond Bossa “KITTY’S LITTLE SONG”.
Also recommendable tunes are: “”WATERMELON MEN”, “SUMMERTIME” and “ELFIE’S BOSSA”
A 2 LP set in a nice gatefold cover.

Lovely live LP by the unique LILL LINDFORS contains many nice vocal tunes and one classy cover version of the Brazilian classic « TO COM AMOR » written by JORGE BEN, sung in Swedish and called “AHA GUNGA ME’ OSS ”

A nice and very seldom Jazz record from the early 80tees on the German ULTRA PHONE label. Some of the tracks have a strong Brazilian feeling and are sung in Portuguese like the very nice club track « A VOZ DO BRAZIL »
The musicians are: Chuck Leob, Mark Soskin, Jose Gallegos, Brian Brake, Portinho, Pual Socolow, Manolo Bardrena, Mauricio Smith.

On this FLORA PURIN LP had worked many first class musicians for example Airto Moreira, Lee Rittenour, Michel Colombier, Harvey Mason, Chester Thompson and David Sanborn. And we can found here the original version of « SAMBA MICHEL » with a very funky bass. This tune was 3 years earlier than the cover version from ANNE HAIGIS. But there are many more funky Brazilian and Disco flavored tunes on this album and the very nice cool down tune “IN BRAZIL”. Highly recommendable!

Wonderful Vocal Jazz album contains the a beautiful Jazz Scat Vocal Bossa track called « AFTERTHOUGHTS » with a interesting drum solo. Also many other nice, atmospheric and quality Jazz tracks like « SLOW HOT WIND » for example. With Ray Brown and Jeff Hamilton.

A wonderful East European Jazz LP, contains many great funky Jazz Scat Vocal and Bossa tunes like “ROSEMARY’S BABY”, “SAMBA” or the verry similar “TICO TICO” with nice vibe parts played by Bernhard Maseli. But my alltime favorite is the funky club tune “PAPAYA” comes great at a late hour!

Very classy and ultra rare, was just 500 copies available from this nugget. This formation around HANS JÖRGEN ALSING is near a Big Band and performing a really own style. Eight interesting tracks between Jazz, Funky Fusion, Brazil and Afro…
There is for example “MULAN” a nice Jazz track with a crazy Batucada Break.
Or “MAN FAR TACKA” a unique Batucada with funny vocals, or the lovely “KAMPEN GAR VIDARE”…all great!

This one is really amazing and ultra rare, too. It’s a strange mix of Rock, Fusion and Vocal Jazz. It cont. the lovely cool down tune “MONOTONE” with crazy vocals in the middle of the track. A real catchy tune!
